I know there are probably a thousand threads about this already, and I don't care if mine gets deleted or locked, I just NEED to pour my thoughts out. HOLY CRAP. I don't know where to even begin. It was just amazing. That's all. When the game started out and it was nothing like previous Gears games, I was a bit nervous. But then the game got on its own two feet, and like Cliff said, everything built to this fever pitch, and it just exploded into awesome.

I wanna express my gratitude to Epic for getting the most important things right (in my opinion): Emotional scenes. Spoilers follow, so be careful if you're reading this without playing first. First of all, Marcus' reaction to discovering Prescott kidnapped Adam. That was PERFECT for Marcus. If this was a cliched video game, Marcus would have raged and cussed and gotten on with it. But I don't know how you guys did it - I could feel the rage behind Marcus' smash of the computer panel. And that's another really important thing. The atmosphere and mood of the game carried VERY well. Pacing was top notch. You always felt like you had a purpose to what you were doing, and the scenes always had an overall mood. It made it not only engaging, but it made me feel.

Back to the emotional scenes. I want to get into the extreme ones now. Without giving too much away (in case someone WANTS spoilers - go elsewhere, I will not willingly give them), I wanna go into Dom's role in the game. If you've played it, you know what I mean. When Dom plays his role, I just.... I loved how the game carried that. It was the perfect scene; really a slow clap scene. But really, the follow-up was the most important. I enjoyed the follow-up. The game knew you'd be struggling to carry through if it hooked you right, so it slowed down the pace a bit with Char. It was grade A pacing that REALLY enforced, again, the overall momentum and mood of the game.

I think the thing I loved most was Marcus. In many ways, Marcus is a cold, hard shell. The novels describe him restraining his inner feelings perfectly; he's hard to read and he never likes to relate. I've always felt that the games have carried that torch well, and Gears 3 is no exception. Again, I don't know how you guys did it, but without expressing too much, Marcus is unarguably the emotional core of the story. The story, I feel, never strays from Marcus and what's on his mind. Even though he's not expressive, you guys managed to express it perfectly.

I just can't praise this game enough. I'll just get right to the point: This is the only game that's ever made me feel things. It will resonate with me in a big way for a long time. The ending manages to tie it up so perfectly, as well. Again, I don't want to spoil too much, but I can totally feel Marcus there again. Everything he keeps restrained manages to be passed to me without being explicitly expressed. That manages to bring some level of closure to the story, really. It's just beautiful.

Like I said, I can't praise this game enough. The campaign alone was worth the $150 I paid for all of this. I can't believe you guys actually managed to craft something this good; this memorable. Thank you, Epic. <3

I 100% agree on everything you just stated. There are a million other threads like this but not THIS. YOu put all your heart and soul in to it and it brough back memories.... I am having living memories from this game that is how fantastic it was. I have never as you put "felt" a game before. It was a new and wonderous feeling. I hope i f another game makes me feel again it will be years from now so as not to destroy the feelings.

I agree that the campaign was the best in any game I've ever played, but I still don't feel like there was much of any closure at all. What happens to the characters after this? Also what are the locust, plus every other question asked in this thread.

I feel little to no closure.
