hi. i just purchased the GOW console. my old one is running good and its a 60g. but for the 3th and last gow i decided to buy the big console.
now in the old one i have all my beta unlocked data, my gow2 downloads and other things. i have purchased the season pass too but i am afraid to open my old console because i want the file to be downloaded on the new. my question its :
whats the best way to transfer all (entire) data form my old xbox to the new? without deleting my precious data.
is it better to run my gow3 disc ( i didnt run yet ) on the old xbox OR on the new xbox for the first time?
if i lose my data when transferring... how can i get it again?... does microsoft keep all my downloaded history outside my console as is they can restore them for me?

please. i want really play the game but i am afraid to run it on the old or new xbox. help is very appreciated to make a decision.
\thanks in advance

Transfer ALL your Gears 3 data/save file/unlocks etc, to a USB falshdrive. use the MOVE function, NOT the copy function.

Weird how you can MOVE savefiles, not copy savefiles, that are Gamertag associated.

I would download everything to the old console first, seems like many people have problems if the beta save is moved...
After you've done everything on the old console, move everything in the memory to a 4gb+ usb stick, put that in your new console and move everything again (or keep your profile on the usb, great if you play at different places)
And lastly, do a license transfer on MS's site to get offline rights to all your dlc and stuff...

Since the beta save seems a little buggy, I would definitely NOT risk moving it anywhere before Gears 3 has checked your profile and saves!

I just copied my profile, beta contents, and gold weapons from my old system to a thumb drive. Fired up the new system, inserted thum bdrive, selected my profile to log into LIVE, started the game, selected my thumb drive, and all my unlocks (beta and gold weapons) were available and saved. Have not had an issue yet.

Oh by the way, did I mentioned I used a thumb drive?

honestly here's what I would do (and I was in the same boat but didnt do this and don't have my unlocks)
use your old hdd/console and play GOW3 in a Vs Ranked match, play til the end, doesn't matter if you do poorly (your getting your stuff to update toEpic servers, rank, stats, etc)

Make sure you have any unlocks your supposed to. (beta, charecter, pre order, etc)
then use a Data Transfer Cable ($20 sucks, but easiest) to use to transfer your old HDD to the new GOW box hdd.

Everything should run smoothly when complete then.

See I traded in my old box to help pay for the new box so I didn't have it, then used transfer cable thinking "everything will move properly, right?" and then got on finally after it updated and - no unlocks. Have been super sad face since.
