Can't play online?

Whenever I go to play online it says "To play online switch your party type to an xbox live enabled mode"

Okay so when I go to do it, all the xbox live options are blacked out and when I click on them it says "Your current gamerprofile settings do not allow playing online games. To continue, all players must have settings that allow online play"

Okay, So I dashboard and check my Online gameplay setting "Enabled". But I still can't play online.

So I put in Black Ops, I can play online on it.

Why can I not play online on Gears of War 3?

I have paid for the Gears of War 3 Console Edition and was first in line at my local gamestation. I have downloaded some skins. And I have all the legacies but the chrome Sawed Off.

Please somebody help me. I beg for help.

I've had this happen to 4 gamertags now. This is really ridiculous. I sent a message to epic support 3 days ago, absolutely no reply. This thread is the only thing I can find online that even
talks about this issue. Tomorrow I will be on day 5 of my gamertag VeGN not able to switch to joinable puplic, joinable friends, or invite-only.

The fact that there is a technical issue with the game isn't what bothers me. What bothers me is that Epic is being such an Epic Fail about making a statement or saying they are working on the issue. Do I even get an apology? I pay for a gold subscription and I've bought every single gears title and can't even play online on the launch day. gee...thanks.

Thats the thing, you have to PROVE you did nothing wrong. Contact flak/Joe, and when you ask if/how you were banned, if they know they will tell you. But if they have no idea, then they are usually really good in the fact tehat they will "unban" you.

I have also tried it on another xbox.
Tried recovering tag on another xbox.
Tried without any gears 3 downloads in the xbox. Also tried with all downloads for gears 3 on a mem stick
Changed family settings to everything possible.
Changed personal settings to everything possible.

Contact Joe Graf and give him your GT to find out if you've been banned, Best Done so via Twitter as EpicCog.

If he says you are then there is nothing that can be done.

Otherwise sit tight. TroyMcClure will keep us updated on anything about this.

I tried everything killspree tried, even tryed clearing the cache. Same result. What if we were accidently banned by the system? Isn't there anyway epic could reverse the ban? I was playing the game earlier and reached level 13, so I know im not banned. If I were banned, I would not be able to play at all. I have proof that I played earlier. So I'm kinda thinking it's the systems fault since this is happening to several people. I messaged flak, and joe graf and im feeling like im being ignored. This is ridiculous knowing you payed 65$ for a game and can't enjoy the full functionality of it by not being able to play online.

Tried all of the above. I have even tried tweeting Joe and he asked me for my GT twice and then never told me if I was or wasn't banned. I'm in shock at what is going on here. This just isn't fair. I noticed that after I purchased the full collection weapon skin pack, right after I was banned. Now with that and the season pass I bought right before that I'm robbed of $80.00 worth of DLC + the retail price of the game, with nothing to show for it..

I also appear to have this issue. I for the life of me, do not know why I'd be banned for anything. I haven't played Gears in quite some time and even then I never did anything that would warrant such a thing. Then again, there may be another issue. My wife's Xbox Live Account works fine for Multiplayer. However, for some reason, mine does not.

Most curious if there is any other reason besides a ban that party switching for online play may not work? Odd.

MS won't do anything if it's a game specific ban, you have to deal with Epic. Also when you tell MS you modded your Achievements say bye bye to your account they will ban that too.

I just got a message from joe graf stating that im banned and that I cannot be unbanned from this. I didnt get a reason why, I didnt get a offer to help. This is complete and utter BS. I pay money just like everyone else and I get banned for make-believe reasons that no one can name or prove!!!!!!!!!! I will be returning my game. Epic is trying to create a great game, but if they cant have the customer service to help peope then they dont deserve my business.

Im assuming this ban is now a PERMA Ban because of the lack of contact with Joe and others, but still guys do not lose hope. I am continuing as much as possible to get anyone issues resolved for myself and if possible for you guys too.

I would like that, I will probably message Joe and Co. later with this idea. Il say that we should remain banned untill the golden gun giveaway is over, this way we get punished with the lack of gold but we also get back our accounts.

If you get banned for a valid reason, fine, you (probably) deserved it.
But I still think they should tell you that reason, perhaps those people could avoid making the same mistakes (and get banned again) if they make a new account...

The achievement bug where people get the same achievements as their split-screen partner has, is really MS (and Epic?) fault, but that bug only gets you level specific achievements, right?

I wouldn't worry about it. Don't get up to no good and you shouldn't have any problems. I've yet to have any issues.

That is indeed the question. You'll notice many (but not all to be fair) are simply raging on here. More often than not this means they are guilty of something.

I know you're not - that's the glitch/hack. "Copying" someone else's achievements when you haven't qualified for them yet....

Ok well it must have been by accident because my friend has all the achievements and we play split screen [well used to] alot, and i guess it somehow did that glitch you're talking about

hey my bro and I were playing the gow2 dark corners horde maps for the achievements, (which i already had) we played the first few through properly, then when we did the same the next time to do some more when the match loaded he was just automatically given the level 100 achievement (despite being level 62 i think) and all the remaining horde achievements that require you to get to such a wave on a certain map. i think that glitch, which was purely accidental, may have banned him, although he was playing gears 3 fine the first few days like some other people have mentioned and now he can no longer play online it just says 0 players worldwide and he cant get a match. can someone check if he is banned please? would be greatly appreciated his GT is Max Malham

I contacted someone on xbox. they then said i would get a call in 0-3days i got a call today the guy didnt know so he said i would be called or emailed by someone who works with gears of war 3 online or something. He said he has never heard of the issue we are all having. He said he would put it on the top of this list so well see if i ever get a call or an email

hey guys, my bro is online again this morning so im assuming that he hasnt been banned it was just a glitch or something. We reset the router this morning and it works fine now, I seen a few people had the same problem of playing online to begin with then when you came back onoineyou could go online, Id try resetting the router, it worked formy bro. yes, xbox live silver members are not able to play online games. Only Xbox Live Gold members are.
