Simultaneous online and local coop

So I saw on cooptimus that Gears 3 won't have simultaneous online and local coop. Considering the last 2 games had that with horde and multiplayer does anyone know if it really is gone in this game? During the beta you could do a glitch to do split screen online play so I know it was in the game at some point?

Can anyone confirm or deny this and if it is indeed gone maybe why? Because if it is gone that means I will be giving this game considerably less of my time.

2 player Splitscreen is supported in every gamemode in both local and online play.

Thanks so much! That's marvelous news! It really matters to me because although I'm getting my own copy I spend a lot of time at my girlfriends house and we wanted to play splitscreen while playing online with a friend who lives far away. Thanks for letting me know. I feel a lot better about the game now.
