I have an American xbox live account, however I live in the United Kingdom. I am absolutely unable to download ANY GOW2 map pack content.. so what can I do Epic?

I log into my xbox live account, I can see the content.. i try to download it.. blam.. i get an error saying im out of the area (my ip obviously shows up as being in England).. If i try to use UK codes bought in store I get an error saying the code isn't valid for my xbox live account...

I own GoW1 Limited Edition, GoW2 Limited Edition, the GoW Hard shell xbox case, GoW shoes made by Globe, I have the headshot locust doll, I have preordered the Epic Edition of GoW3 AND the Limited Console which I'll be picking up at midnight... PLEASE don't leave me out in the cold.. help me find away I can get the season pass and actually download the content when it's released!!

(I am NOT starting my xbox live account over.. I have every achievement in GOW2, nearly 30,000 gamerscore, an xbox live account since before the launch of the 360, i don't know how many $$ I've spent on downloadable content that I'd lose forever.. and Microsoft will not allow me to transfer my account so that question is out too)

I plan to spend the next good portion of my gaming life playing GoW 3.. please help me find a solution.

Create another account.Same thing happened to my brother and he created a new one in case he couldn't download content for Gears 3.

There is nothing Epic can do about it.

Creating a 2nd account is going to cost me over £200... I am subscribed to xbox live till nearly 2014, and all of the content I've downloaded.. all gow 1 map packs.. s..tloads of guitar hero addons, tons of arcade games.. its absolutely absurd and ridiculous that because im in the military stationed overseas on a long term basis i would have to pay to start over.. not to mention the thousands and thousands and thousands of hours of game time ive put in to earn my 30,000 gamerscore.. im quite sure epic could put the dlc onto disc format that can be installed on the hardware.. IE my dragn age origins ultimate edition with all the dlc on a 2nd disc.....

There is a new way to change the region of gamertag on xbox.com

Two possibilities:

1. Log onto www.xbox.com and see whether MS allows your US account to be migrated to the UK. There should be an option for this, I just don't know whether Microsoft allows account migration from the US to the UK.

2. Create a second gamertag, based in the UK, and download the season pass with it. You then can still play the dlc on your main gt, at least on the console the dlc was first downloaded to. Works fine, have done it myself for the GoW2 and Borderland dlc's as well as a couple more. If you permanently switch consoles, just take the second gt with you and transfer the licenses.

NiteChylde thanks for the advise.. does this mean that I have to pay for 2 running Xbox live accounts or does this work with a free "silver account"

So I create a new gamertag based in the UK on the silver level, download the content that I want to play, and I am allowed to use it on a completely seperate gamertag as long as it's stored on the same hard drive?

Jiba Jaba/NiteChylde Microsoft does NOT allow migration to the UK from the US (there are only 10 countries on the list and they aren't really "major countries" its like Russia/Poland/SouthAfrica it's a weird list)

It works fine with a Xbox Live Silver Membership, so no need to pay for another Gold Membership. :)

And yes, you can use the contents you buy with that gamertag on a totally different gamertag, as long as it's on the same console you very first downloaded the content with. If that console breaks or you want to switch to a newer one, you ain't screwed, though. All you have to do is initialise a licence transfer from Xbox.com - it's explained on there how to do it.

Ah, good to know. It's the same for Germany. I'd love to switch my regular Gamertag to a UK one, but can't due to the restricted list of migration countries MS offers.

Funny sidenote: A mate of mine accidentally transfered his gamertag to Russia, shortly before reaching 100,000 gamerscore. I lol'ed like a madman. I still wanna know, though, how something like this can happen "accidentally"...

ha ha ha thats funny... i am not sure how it's accidental.. unless alcohol was envolved lol.

Well my friend downloaded the all fronts map pack with my GT recovered, and saved it to a thumb stick and is mailing it to me, so im going to see how that works. I have an official complaint in with microsoft about not allowing account migration so i'll wait to see what they say before I start adding a 2nd profile to my account.

One way or the other, important is you find a solution that works for you. :)
