I'm not expecting for this to get a ton of screen time, but I do hope it's sprinkled in here and there like it was in the books. Assuming the fifth book's other story line takes place after Gears 3, I'm guessing that's where we'll get most of it.

There are no deleted scenes in Gears 3 as DLC like in Gears 2. This has been confirmed by Rod. Which means it will be new content.

The fifth book is about marcus in the slab, but the side story might be a continuation of gears 3 but I doubt it. I'm leaning more on the comics to shed some light.

There are no deleted scenes in Gears 3 as DLC like in Gears 2. This has been confirmed by Rod. Which means it will be new content.

That "deleted scene" in Gears 2 was obviously created well after the game came out. They just called it deleted.

Yeah I know, but there's still a good chance of it having a "current timeline" story in it. Two of the books were named after something that happened in the past. Plus isn't that Karren's established pattern for these books now?

Yes, and I agree with your idea. The ending of Gears 3 is a good closure, but they leave a few loose ends that would be tied up nicely in a book. So hopefully it's not entirely about Marcus and his time in prison.
