View Full Version : Blender question.
Is there any way to incorporate textures/normal/specmaps into a model so blender would not go to C:\.....\Documents.... etc.?

Umm, I don't really understand the question. Can you rephrase?

When i open my model file already textured i go to texture tab and for each texture i see "source C:\...\Documents\..." but i don't want that. Can i somehow combine textures with model? So it does not go to C:\...\Documents

That directory should be where you opened it from. You can include a texture with the .blend file.
Go to the UV/Image editor, select the image from the drop down list. Select the "image" men, then "Pack Image".

After you pack them, you should be able to delete/move the textures from your computer. I would test this out first, but it should work fine.

And another question i did what you told me to and it worked but when i export file to 3ds for example textures are there but they aren't rendered. Default material is instead. Does that mean i will have to pack them after i export it to 3ds format?

I have never used 3ds, but I would guess is that they handle materials/textures differently and/or the export file doesn't include the textures.
You would probably have to redo the materials/textures in 3ds after you import it from Blender (which seems a bit odd to me).

Thanks for your help anyway :)

Why would you want to delete the textures?
If you're in the UDK forum I assume you use UDK. You need to import these files to make your materials.

You should also always keep a backup of the raw source file.
