Wanna make something unreal? Our developers team is organising a contest in order to recruit some programers. It will consist of some training sessions and a final test in a true project.
The best of the candidates will automatically become part of our team.
There are no requirements but there are certain aspects that will score for:
-Provable programming skills regardless of UnrealScript
-Knowledge of OOP and C/C++
-Previous knowledge of UnrealScript as well as in UDK and UE in general.
-Previous projects in which the candidate has taken part (codes required in order to prove it).
-Anything related with programming and game developtment.
Send your applications to: miguelrodrigo249@gmail.com
Dates are not fixed yet.

Just a question : why specifically would anyone join your game in particular?

We are just a group of indie developers. No one gets any money if that's what you mean.
However, you get classes for no money. Is that enought? Is intended for not experienced UDK users, so if you think you have nothing we can teach you, this is not for you. Have i answer what you wanted to know?

More info on how these 'training sessions' would work would be nice - I'd be interested in applying.

I think you guys have taken far more initiative than just throwing out "we need this and we need thats". Kudos~. Would like to know how your training turn out.

Ok we plan to first of all introduce the basic stuff about udk that programmers may nedd such as loading assets. Also the base of OOP and UScript like inheritance and so.
-"The Unreal Way"
-Classes
-Functions
-Structs...
Then, for those who show real interest (you guys know many people drop out when they find out that a game is not done by itself), we are gonna teach things all unreal programers need regardless in which UDK system they specializes in.
-States
-Delegates
-Interfaces...
Later, we are going to divide candidates in groups teaching them specific areas of UDK such as Characters Creation, Weapons Creation, AI, Network...
We are not professional teachers and our English isn't the best hahaha but i think it's a nice oportunity for begginers.
This course is NOT for ARTISTS. Artistic part of developtment is left in the hands of other team.

hi guys, first post. =)
i just finished installing UDK and was looking at the documentations and the video tutorials when i found this.
i tried a bit of programming apps for android(not that good yet though), but decided to try UDK next after seeing infinity blade.
hopefully you guys are still open for new members. as it's easier to learn from folks who already got a solid production line going on. saves time from trial and error, lol..
just some quick questions though,
-how many members are you recruiting?
-any estimate on when you're gonna start training?
-what kind of game are you planning to make? FPS, RTS, etc?
-are we obligated to become members after the training?
-if so, is it a one time project or several?
anyway, i guess i'll email you with a sample code.
cheers.

1) After discarding those who don't show real interest we would like to have between 5 and 15.
2) We would like to start as early as possible but we don't finish exams until mid June so that's aproximately the begining date.
3) Game planned for training is a quite simple RPG and the one for the big project is an action game in 3rd person.
4) You are not obligated to do anything. haha you dont have to join the group after all but we would love you to.
5) I don't get what you mean with this question sorry :S

Hi. As a newcomer to code, I am very much interested in any Unrealscript training... however... your requirements are very high.
I dont think this is aimed at beginners - more like intermediate/advanced programmers who wish to polish UDK skills up.
Are there any beginner classes in the future? aka "Hello World!" :D

Aye, no word from him for a while. Last he said was something about setting up forums for the students - so we could discuss and problem-solve.
I came across Assembla a few days back (thanks Zack), and the FREE areas of that can also be used as a collaboration / study area.
