Command console popping up

I think the command console was popping up, 2 green lines appeared during the main menu and in-game the very first time I played it. I lost functionality of the directional buttons in the menu. I lost functionality of the R2/L2 buttons during the QTEs to shut the blast door after the bounty hunter blows the glass open.

No text was being drawn but it looked like the UE3 command console to me.

Same thing happens to me a lot, I can't use the d-pad as well.
