I am unable to sign in or create a profile, so no multiplayer options are availible to me and I can't register my limited edition code. Any ideas would be appreciated!

Have you gone to Xbox.com and set up your LIVE account? Games for Windows - LIVE \ Xbox LIVE are the same account. You should be able to set up your LIVE enabled account there.

Then enter in that e-mail address and password for that account in the game.
