Hey guys, just thought I'd pass on a link to an article I saw over at Ars Technica (http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2011/02/bulletstorm-and-you-how-to-get-it-playing-nice-with-your-pc.ars). Dudes over there know what a mess this PC port is, and they've got a few tips complied to help tweak the game into a more proper state.
Seems like the ini files are encrypted, but Ars details how to deal with that. Then it's possible to tweak graphical, control, and game details the way they ought to be: No mouse acceleration, wider FOV, removing the FPS cap.
Enjoy! And hope this helps.

Thank goodness there is an INI fixer. I can't wait to play this game once it's properly playable!
It's completely absurd that we have to deal with encryption to turn off mouse smoothing (which has no reason to exist and actively makes control worse) and frame rate limits.
Personally, I don't think is the appropriate analogy for making objectively, fundamentally necessary graphics tweaks and turning off mouse smoothing, but that's just me :) LOL

Kidding aside though, this is a very smart idea. Just separate the graphics and controls INI lines from the game behavior / script lines and we'll be fine, and leaderboards will be secure, too.

If online play is dependent on client side INI files, that's a design flaw that went the way of the dodo back in the mid 90s! But, even with that said, opening the INI files without the need for an editor downloaded from a shady Russian website is a welcome addition to the game, so thumbs up to PCF for that.

Well, there are no dedicated servers, nor any need for them. Therefore everything is client side by its very nature. So that part can't really be avoided. It's still a game design issue, just that there kind of are reasons for it.
It's too early to give them a thumbs up. They haven't said they will change anything yet. They haven't said that they will even think about changing things either, technically. Hopefully they do, though. It's a good sign that he understands how easy it would be to give us the options we need.
