So i'm a huge fan of gears, and i'm going to be straight forward and say i preordered the epic edition of bulletstorm mainly due to having the early acess of the beta. However after looking into the game a bit more i feel as if the game falls rather short and the lasting appeal doesn't justify the price.
So my question is, is the beta some kind of code or a disk. If its a code i can simply continue with my purchase and return it without losing out on a great deal of money, however if its on a disk im considering canceling before i regret my purchase.
Thanks in advance

It needs both code and disk...
I swear this needs to be a notification at the top of the forums.. Don't know how many times i've answered this/seen it answered

What's the difference between the Epic and non Epic edition with regards to the beta? What grants you access to the Gears beta? The online pass?
Can't you get early access to the beta by buying the regular edition and just getting an online pass for 800 MSP from the marketplace? I could care less about this game and the extra content for it, I just want to get in on the beta early, preferably not having to spend 60 on this poor game.

Epic edition code also unlocks gears 3 beta..
That's obvious, it's on the game box, is my question that hard to understand?
What's the DIFFERENCE between the copy that has the case art that says Epic Edition and the copy that has the regular Bulletstorm art?
The gears beta? Is that it? Is there even an online code that comes with the non Epic version? If there's no code then that answers my question. If there is a code in the NON EPIC version, is it just for the extra crap for the game but doesn't grant access to the Gears beta?
EA sells most if not all their games now with stupid "VIP" codes that are 1 time use but aren't "Limited" in any sense of the word even though they slap "Limited Edition" on the cover(Bad Company 2/Medal of Honor), they are just to combat used game sales.
I feel like this Epic Edition non sense is just a ploy to move more copies on the coat tails of Gears 3 because this game sucks, at any rate I want in on the Beta as early as possible with spending the least money as possible, not that money is an issue but I'm not the type of person to "throw away" $60 on a game that sucks and/or I don't like.

The disk has coding for the beta normal edition does not.
The normal edition code is synced to Online Access
The Epic Edition is synced to download Beta + Unlockables + Online Access.
Its like asking whats the difference between a 48 hour trial and a 12 month.

That's actually not even remotely similar. Good try though. Do you have a link to back up that solid theory?

Actually they are two different codes so yes it is...
EA adds the Online Access to new games to force preowned buyers to pay extra.
The Normal edition comes with it.
The epic edition code unlocks Online access as well as the code being tied to other DLC..

So what's to stop me from buying a copy that doesn't come with the Epic Edition code, or buying any copy used and getting a non used epic edition code?
And no, they aren't comparable at all, a 12 hour and 48 hour trial for XBL are the exact same thing, just different quantities.
This "Epic Edition" grants you access to something, the alternative doesn't grant you any access at all according to what you're saying. Good try again.
I find it hard to believe that they've done anything different with the disc in epic copies in comparison to non epic copies and then sell both at the same price. EA has never once done anything like that in the past. I'm sure it's just the code and you need ANY copy of Bulletstorm for the beta.

so wait, this has me confused. the epic edition disk is different than the non epic edition disk? I thought they were the same? my disk doesn't mention epic edition on it.

Coolin, I don't think anyone has a full answer to your question (outside developers). It's probably like most games that are cross-platform, where codes change what you get. EA does that frequently actually. with epic edition, you not only get the beta, but a golden leash, some cool armor, 25,000 points (automatic level 5..which is a good start). those things are epic edition only as well.
my question to you would be, why are you trying to make things as difficult as possible. buying a pre-owned copy and getting an unused EE code just to be "different"? I highly doubt they would print two different disks, it makes zero sense from a business standpoint. it's alot of wasted money with zero return. just as baffling thou, is you wanting to go out of your way to avoid the EE but still play the beta...
and since you didn't like the 48/12 month analogy... it's like "stealing" something thats "free".
