You can sometimes block and then immediately parry the same God King attack.

I find it to be the opposite. I successfully parried his move but accidentally touched the shield button and 3 points was deducted from the durability.

You can make this happen on anyone. I get it a lot because I tend to hold block and then swipe to parry when I know I can get it.
