I know, it sounds like a "request" post, but rather, "suggestion", or "brain-storm"(hehehe).

Since I started this, I'll be the first to demo...

I read a thread about not having a competitive MP game, and people are writing up some really negative commons... so, as a "fan who wants to make more fan"... I posted this thread to let us fans "chat" about some ideas for this game, with such unique game style, to have a competitive MP game with out putting people up in a slomo, cryo stasis... and turn a simple DM in to "who can spam Psy-Lasso fastest, wins"

*Floating Arena:

A small arena (static mesh), any shape, with covers, weapons, any styles (MOD tools for mappers?)... each arena spawns ONE player, and each arena sets apart from others; unreachable by foot, but visible players don't do damage to each other. ("What fun is that?" you'd ask)

The game play starts when all players are ready, and each "platform" will spawn waves of enemies, in an IDENTICAL fashion. players are competed against each other based on their "skillshot" score!

The real challenge becomes when one player's DONE with his waves, and starts "KILL STEAL" other player's kills! (sniper weapons *hint *hint) Imagine, you saw someone setting up a "Thump!!" with bunch of baddies in the air, PLUS, a few explosive garbage cans... and you just happens to have your sniper "charged up" for a kill on your own "arena", instead having it use to pop one of your own baddy, you quickly aim at the garbage can on the other guy's arena "BOOM!~" you just WRECK up TONS of points!!! (INSTA KILL STEAL!!~)


PS: If the only thing about DM being a "NONO" BECAUSE of the "psy-lasso", and it's Cryo-stasis effect, just turn cryo off! making the game MUCH FASTER and skill intensive, or if still not sure, just go with no psy-lasso! or make psy-lasso some thing less "cheap" to player?

Ok. Now my turn.

I'm that guy who is whining about no versus MP for some time.

My idea is just a modified version of deathmatch based on skillpoints instead of kills (doing crazy things on other player should be better rewarded than just headshoting) the harder skillshot, the more skillpoints (and the bigger difference in actual amount skillpoints the more points. This should prevent from farming skillpoints by doing most advanced skillshots on them and encourage people to try it on better players). This is basic idea.

this gametype would need some rebalancing such as:
- removing that "Cryo-stasis effect" on leash and kick.
- rebalancing flail gun (it would be probably too deadly for other players)
- changing amount of skillpoints from some of skillshots (leashing towards us enemy who have boneduster or flail gun while we have only PMC is pretty risky. A lot more than doing same things on brainless gangsters ;) )

And ofcourse maps should be designed in a little different way. A lot of mortal interactive objects, level allowing to move fast through rooms. Holes i walls through which you can slide, puddles enchancing speed and lenght of it.

It could result in pretty fast interesting matches.

Like the guy above me, rather than a deathmatch, a skillshot mode would be cool. Where both teams need to try and get more skillshot points than the other team. Maybe have the more powerful weapons and the leash be pickups? And reward teamwork a lot. If your team can do co-op skillshots, then you'd earn massive points. I think this would extend the games lifespan ten-fold.

yeah. ffa mode, team mode, and pair mode (like multiple 2-player teams). There is could be many mutations of this versus skillpoint mode.
