Who do you play as in MP and why?

Pretty self explanatory. I'm interested in hearing opinions. I'll begin with my two favorite characters: A. Carmine and Kantus.

Anthony: I enjoy the Carmine brothers' quotes in both games, but I like Anthony better than his brother mostly due to his helmet design and the nostalgia factor. I also would rather feel like an anonymous soldier, rather than having a full team of Marcus's running around.

Kantus: Honestly, I like all the locust variations (except cyclops, he makes me rage.) but something keeps me coming back to playing Kantus. Must be the hat, methinks.

Ben/Anthony Carmine: I just like them, not sure why. I think it's the helmet;)

Locust differs day to day. But my favorite is Sniper.

Sniper: He is a good size, he doesn't make alot of noise, and those goggles are awesome!

I also love when he gets a head shot, he does that awesome growl thing:D:p

Hoffman/kim: Highest ranking officers Kim is just there for guardian or if I need a change of scenario.

Beast Rider: Takes some serious sack to go to war with only pants on and that helmet of his is just awesome.

I play as Dom because I always have since Gears 1. I may switch to a female character in Gears 3 but it would almost feel like cheating haha.

LOCUST: Raam - He's kinda like a trophy because I never thought I would be able to beat him on hardcore.

I used to only play as A. Carmine, and the Sniper Drone. Now, I pretty much just keep pressing RT when the match is going to start, and whatever it lands on, I'll use. The only characters I really don't like using are the Theron Guards, and RAAM. They make too much noise.

MARCUS AND RAAM

marcus becuz hes the ultimate badass who doesnt show emotion only anger and frustration, similar cursing style lol

i love the drone but i want something unique and Raam imo is superior to skorge and the black theron armor looks awesome and as a plus it shows u kick ass at gears 1

Initially I selected Lieutenant Minh Young Kim. I selected him for several reason, the first being, I never played GOW1 MP so it's kind of like my homage to GOW1. Other reason is, I'm not afraid to lose if my team wins, similar to when he got impaled by RAAM but the rest of Delta and Alpha made it out. He's a "textbook" leader, similar to when I play, no trash talking, play to win, e.t.c

Locust, I just pick the Granadier for the same reason people pick Carmine. He's just a generic locust.

Marcus/Kim: Marcus is pure badass, but I feel like I play a bit better as Kim.

Grenadier: He's big, he's bad, and he don't need no pansy armor!

Anthony. Played as him in gears 1. Chose him because i like masks.

I've been playing as Baird since his Gears 1 'It's a f--king party down here' spiel. He's also semi-stealthy since he grunts instead of yells as he rolls. His phrases are all pretty good.

Super Shirtless Grenadier won me over because his guns magically attach to his back. Very humorous.

I played as Cole but then I realised nearly all the silly noobs play as Cole, then I changed to Baird but he's mega overused >_< So when RAAMzilla's not playing I play as Tai and when he is I play as Baird :p

Grenadier Elite....mainly cause its called elite and my xbox is an elite :cool: lol I made that up but you wanted reasons so yeah, I just play as g.elite cause there ain't much choice lol

My choice was based off superstition..basically I picked Baird in Geasr 1 one time and I did great so I was like well lets keep playing Baird and now he's just my favorite character to play in Gears 2 and hopefully Gears 3.

Kim - always have since day one. when gow first came out, I was a little late to the party and everyone in my little crew pretty much had their steady characters for the most part, Kim was the last one left. Plus I'm balding, so that works too.

Grenadier - because he's better than you.

Tai Kaliso because he's such a brilliant character, he's a boulder of a soldier yet has quite a quiet personality, viewing himself as more than just a soldier, as a Warrior. Only Tai can cut Tai.

Flame Grenadier because he's a Tank of a locust with few words to share and much pain to inflict, wearing a helmet covering his entire head, blocking his eyes so you never know what he's thinking. Very Jason Voorhees.

Tai. His armour is cool, especially without the giant shoulder plate. I like that he cross draws his snub from his chest harness. Also he rocks a tidy mohawk.

Theron guard. I like his gear. Looks like heavy armour, the rest of the locust are wearing S&M bondage gear. Yeah that's right, I said it. The locust shop at the fetish store. You all know its true.

Wow, I'm pretty passionate about the COG but I actually prefer to play as the Locust.

RAAM - because he's the WHOLE reason I play Gears, I loved the Mad World trailer but not enough to buy the game, then I saw a picture of Raam on the interwebs and was like "Sh*t, he looks totally bad-ass I must play this" and then when I first saw him in the campaign and (incase someone hasn't played #1 yet) when he did what he did to someone, I've been a massive fan since :)

That was pretty sweet, remains one of my all time favourite in-game cut scenes. Which leads me nicely to...

COG: Used to be Baird, because he's pretty funny and I like his overall character.

Locust: Used to be RAAM because he's badass - Despite what Marcus said about Skorge in GOW2.

Recently (i.e. about 4 days ago) changed to Hoffman for the COG, no particular reason just for a change. Also have been trying out different locust during the same time as I'm not sure who I like. May go for the Theron Guard or may just go back to RAAM.

Marcus- No reason in particular. I just like Marcus. Especially after reading the beginning of Aspho Fields.

Theron- It's my favorite locust design, aside from the Ticker which you can't play.

Baird: He makes less noise when he rolls, and rolling noise is just annoying. And I like his hair.

Theron Guard: Because he looks cool, and I've heard tons of people tell me in sniper matches "I would have had your head if you weren't the Theron!" (supposedly its harder to hit him in the back of the head... makes since, he has armor there :P )

P.S. I'm a bad sniper, so I need all advantages I can get

Dizzy - he has the best lines of any character! Hes unique with that hat of his, and I play pretty good with him.

Baird - He makes minimal noise, I also find him to be more smoother and agile compared to dizzy who is relatively 'stiff' as far as movement.

Grenadier - I like playing as a locust more so then a cog, IDK why... even in Gears1 I liked being on the locust side more so then the cog.. been picking grenadier since 2006, he looks badass and also, he as well makes minimal noise which is a plus.
