View Full Version : Can't play multiplayer with 48 gold trial code

My brother's account gold membership expired. He entered the 48 hour code, it worked all right. On his xbox page and on the dashboard it says he has "xbox live gameplay" but he cant play Gears 2 multiplayer. Not rank, social or horde. He can play other games online (marvel vs capcom 2, etc)so that means the code is working but no gears 2. Can gears 2 multiplayer be played with a silver account with a 48 hour gold trial? Have any of you ever done this?

banned or split screen glitch as you're talking about your brother it's probably the latter

As I have understood that glitch doesn't lets you play at all because the screen freezes on the Microsoft logo. He can enter multiplayer but only play local. Not online.

does he get any message when trying to access online mp ?

It says that this account doesn't has the features to play online. Something like that. In other words it treats the account as silver. I know this 48 hour gold trial code doesn't grant you gold status, they just let you play online. My question is. Have any of you ever done this? Is it possible to play gears 2 multiplayer with a 48 hour gold trial?

Yeah, All Fronts is tied to his account. And I dont care about guests, he wants to play with his account like he did when he was gold. I guess you cant play gears 2 with a 48 hour trial code maybe because it has some of those "gold features" and no one has confirmed me this nor I have read someone to have done it.
