Hiya UDK users!
We're producing a game using the Unreal Development Kit called "Asset". We've been working on it for a few months and would really like to share it with you guys!

Nice picture. Reminds me of the Imbros Grove in Crete.

Hey good stuff, thanks for posting it. In the shot you've included, my only major comment would be that the lighting seems really desaturated for being a directly sunlit day. Just tweaking a little more warm color into it, a hint of yellow or orange, would probably help out a lot. Or maybe just throw a simple post effect on top?
Anyway thanks for posting about your project, some good pics on the moddb page.

I think it looks perfect the way it is. Sometimes more light isn't always the answer.

There is no such thing as pitch-black in daylight. Bounced light from the sky, surfaces and objects will filter at least a little bit of light on the darkest areas.

This is true, but this not the case in our map. There is no place in the map that is pitch black, but there are places that seem to be.
The faint fog shader that has been applied filters out detail when objects and terrain are at a distance. This means that any dark parts in the map will, at a distance, seem to be a completely black. But when you get closer, the fog thins out and lighter details begin to appear.
Obviously this is hard to see in the picture, but thanks for pointing it out.
I'd also like to add that we're glad to see so many people paying attention to our work; it really keeps us going!

I really like the normal map on the rocks. I like the way the light hits them and the shadows that comes with it. It adds depth and detail to the scene.
