More Customization in GOW3

In the trailer that Cliffy B showed us Monday night, we saw Marcus holding a Double-Barrel shotgun. I couldn't help but think it was going to be the hammerburst of shotguns.

I cannot imagine the Double-Barrel Shotgun as a pick-up power weapon. I think of it as a second option I can choose over the traditional gnasher shotgun. I can only imagine that it will be able to shoot it's 2 shots right after another, that its shots will offer more power and more range than the gnasher. But its low ammo count and possibly long reload time (guessing it will have a long reload time) will keep it balanced.

This great news and I am sure that I am not the only one that is excited to try this new weapon out. It will hopefully add a new feel to gears' already BA close combat gameplay.

Will you choose the Double-Barrel or the old gnasher?

Hmm, if it's anything like the Lancer/Hammerburst option in Gears 2, then I would most likely choose the double-barrel version over the Gnasher. However, it's probably a power weapon.

i cud see the DB as like a pistol spawn thing where its not like you really battle to get it but you gotta make an effort to switch it up

I'll switch between the DB Shotty (Minotaur, Thrasher, Reaper, whatever it is) and the Gnasher like I switch between Lancer and Hammerburst.

But I'll prefer the DB Shotty in Campaign until I play MP, at which point I'll target the DB Shotty players with my Gnasher. :D

It appears it will not be a pick-up, but a switchable weapon like the Hammy/Lancer combo.
