TLDR version near bottom!

Hi, somewhat new here but have been using UT3 for some time, I am currently studying games design at university.

We are required to make a mod in UDK, for this there is a team of 11 people however as a design course, we focus on art (modeling and animation) and not coding and scripting.

The team is very competant and level making in UDK and also modeling and animation, however we have not been taugh and are not going to be taught how to get a custom character from 3DS max to UDK.

I know how to import models and also have a fairly good idea of animation trees.

We have 6 weeks for this mod and as no one knows how to import characters we are in need of some tutorials.

So far we have actorX and looking into a tutorial on how to use it, aswel as that we have looked into other tutorials, however some seem incomplete, some are confusing and some just change existing things.

What we are after

(TLDR - above)

We are in need of a tutorial that explains how to get a character from 3DS max (both bipedal and none) with animations into UDK set up as a playable character with custom weapons (these are for the most part just melee attacks)

Are there any complete and good tutorials anyone can suggest, preferably video or lots of diagrams as we are strugling with scripting.

And finaly peoples views on if this is possible with in the time allowed?

Thanks in advance

i'll try not to be nasty about this, but if your uni expects you to do this shouldn't they teach you how !!!! thats why your there !!!!

there are a lot of tutorials out there including my own, those from UT3 still work with UDK apart from the coding side. looks like you'll have to work a little bit harder fitting all the pieces together.

my thoughst too, there alot of go look on the interent for tutorials, it realy anoys me tbh, most the lecturers are helpful, the module is called production and testing and not make a game with unreal, most students here have chosen unreal as they taught us how to make levels using UT3 assets last year, and tuahgt us kismet and stuff this year, next year we have optical motion capture, where they teach this to a point, but thats more focused on using the motion capture facility.

however i learnt along time ago not to expect too much, and thus dont question it no more, just try to do my best and thought you guys would be the best place to start.
