[PS3] Head Shots without the Sniper Rifle.

On Saturday whilst playing Rising Sun I had the bio rifle charging up whilst going up a lift. On the top platform by the flak cannon some one came up the opposite lift directly in front of me, I took aim and fired, killed them, but got the 'Head shot' commentary! I laughed, figuring it was just lucky, but I just got another bio rifle head shot on shangri-la! Almost the same scenario, the opponent was coming directly towards me.

Could it just be a glitch due to a combination of that person having very low health and the placement of my shot?

I pretty much whore the bio rifle due to ping issues but this has me wondering if head shots are possible with other weapons too, like flak etc?

on an unrelated side note I saw a player called forceofgod playing today, could it have been 'the' forceofgod from days of old? lol... he's no longer in the top 100 so I have no idea. He was a spritely player though, bouncing all over the place. I got him three times (at which point he was leading by 8 kills) but by the end of the game I noticed he'd left the match...

Maybe Flak could be nice and tell us if accounts time out? If they don't, it's probably him :P

those accounts dont time out. they are based off the the PSN registrant's email and pass. you can "not use" them for over a year and they'll be waiting for you to use (on anyone's ps3) whenever you wish. in other words, anyone can give their "account" or login info to another person to use on their system.

commenting on this thread because ive gotten numerous headshots with the bio in TDM/DM/never duel..
i could swear ive gotten headshots with a different gun..once.. drunk maybe?

If a rocket in a face is not a headshot, why should the Bio Rifle be able to deal headshots?

They still have bio headshots in UT3? I remember getting them all the time in the UT3 demo. It was fun :)

It's easy you bio rifle someone, if that bio rifle would kill them and a teammate of yours then headshots the same person you bio'd. You get the kill, with however they hit them. So if they hit a headshot, you'll be rewarded with a headshot, if they combo them, you get a combo kill. Etc.

That's why it isn't a bug.

I guess this would only work if your bio goo would kill the enemy anyway.
It would be unfair if you just use bio's primary fire (which would minimally damage him) and your teammate does the whole work (headshot, combo, etc.), but it's your kill.
Years ago I shot a bio goo (secondary and fully charged) and hit an enemy.
I got a kill (headshot).
It could be possible that someone else shot his head, I can't remember it.
What crazy says does not seem illogcal, however, it's not an explanation that it can't be a bug!
It's your kill but it's not your headshot or whatever...

Ummm, please post source code. I don't believe Epic would intentionally code it that way. If the goo hasn't killed the opponent yet, and someone else headshots him, the other player should get the frag.

On that note, kill assists are something I would like to see implemented for team games in a future UT. How the scoring would work, I don't know.

Bio Rifle headshots require help from another player who actually has the Sniper Rifle. Basically if a player has been "secondary-goo'd", anything killing that player will be attributed to the player who initially fired the goo. That also includes headshots, including the corresponding announcement.

If you see someone carrying a glob of goo around, wait until its gone or you won't get any kill credit.

That's right.
Both in Deathmatches and in other modes it would be interesting.
Let's say you are the taxi in a Warfare match.
You carry the orb carrier two times very quickly and safely.
As a result your team wins, but your score is 0 although you probably were the most important player.
The best thing as an addition would be that someone yells "Let's kick this stupid AFK idiot!" :D

P.S: Oh, I see it does not have anything to do with the "Headshots without the Sniper Rifle", well, happens ;)
