Looks really nice so far. You don't happen to have a website or perhaps a page on Moddb which I could subscribe to? :D

Cheers Tavish - We've got some great guys on the team that have worked on some top mods before.

This is just a taster of the artwork, I'll post up more as when we reach our next milestone. There is a lot more here, we just don't want to give toooo much away quite yet ;o)

Hey Denny, thanks for the interest! :D We do have a ning site that's looking really nice (If I do say so myself!) that we're thinking of using as a template for a Moddb page - Just for you - i'll get it up and running by the end of next week!

If there's enough interest here, we have a teaser trailer that we put together to show a certain studio who were interested in the project (enough of that for now... ;) ) - I'll post up the vimeo link if people want.

Thanks again for your support.

Ps. Your tutorials rock

Anyways, the usual guy who codes for us is one of the Dare to be Digital winners from 2008 (Boro Toro - Dark Matter Designs), but unfortunately he's tied up with other work atm. SO, any help would be appreciated - oh and another thing I should mention:

ANY WORK DONE ON THIS PROJECT IS TOTALLY YOUR PROPERTY AND WOULD NOT BE MARKED AS PART OF OUR SUBMITTED UNI MATERIAL (We're designers, not coders!) - ANYONE WORKING ON THIS WILL BE FULLY CREDITED FOR THEIR WORK GUYS :o

I would just like to point out that that was probably the most realistic hands I'va seen in 3D at all.

The arms only have the base textures applied so far, wait till you see the finished articles. :)

I'm not sure if he would mind or not, but Hourences, the guy who's heading development on The Ball (If you didn't know that, sorry if you do), made a map for GOW called The Spire. It's a small single map, though, so he might not mind at all, just be aware of that, just in case it's mentioned by him or anyone else to whom it might infringe upon.

Thanks dude - They'll look even better when we've got a decent coder to get the game mechanics working ;)

Yeah, its not a commerical venture so hopefully it won't be a problem. We had chosen a name and then I came across the map afterwards.

Bump - Further progress has been made and we now have some custom gameplay elements in place, can anyone help us out with guesture controls (A little like the game Penumbra) ?!?

That map is not a commercial product, and even if it were, it is near impossible to protect a level name. The name is not protected.
Good luck with the project!

If you are still in need of a coder, maybe i could help, im just starting to learn ut script, but i have plenty of time to expend programming

I've trying to learn without a project, but its hard, so i need goals more clear

Hey Hourences, thanks for the support - there was never any infringement intended - the level/world layout and setting warrented a great title - hence the name :)

Many thanks for your inadvertent help - The Ball game setup tut was a great first step for us into the UDK.

That sounds great Angel, please PM me and we can chat, or go to the front page of this thread and add my email address to MSN so we can talk. I'm online most days from 08:00pm - 02:00am BST.

Take it easy.

So, you need C++ scipters? Java maybe? You'd need both, unless someone can utilize the programing required for any full-scale project, as well as UnrealScript knowledge. Also, don't release information more than you need to, as there may be a few industry teams waiting for prey (non-copyright works). Goodluck with the project, should be a good learning experience

Hey TADT,

Thanks for the enquirery - We've had a really great response from the whole of the UDK community and we now have 4 coders that have been vetted and are ready and really enthusiastic to get involved.

The guys have knowledge and experience of Java and C++, however (Don't shoot me if I'm wrong - I am a designer...) :) from what I know, Uscript doesn't allow for such low level coding as C++, it's more of a Java-style-derivative/very similar to Java.

SO, the 4 are going to get into the UDK over the next week or so and hopefully we'll get some results to show people within the next month or so...

As far as Copyright is concerned - we have all of the work done so far properly copyrighted as per international copyright laws - more mod teams should do this. All of the team sign NDA's and so the REALLY coolgameplay and story bits are still very much a team secret :D We just wanted to give people enough info for them to make a good judgment call.

As far as it goes, do you have much experience using the UDK/Uscript? If so, please get in touch as we need as much help as we can get, even if it's as a consultant style role if you wouldn't want to get directly involved. You would recieve credit for any advice/help/input.

Many Thanks,

J

Hey guys - still looking for a Uscript porgrammer to do some gameplay elements that involve basic Physics tweaking through to some more fun stuff - If anyone's interested, please let me know asap.

Many thanks.

J

P.s. we already have 3 other coders working on AI stuff - so thanks for the response!

Hey,

We now have another code/scripting post available - we're open to anyone who can lend a hand - specifically someone who can be dedicated and who's always up for a challenge.

We've not lost anybody, we're not way behind schedule and we don'y have any major isses/scripting problems - just looking to step things up!

So please get in touch and post up any questions here!

Many thanks,

J

1. Do you have a website? For some reason I can't see any of the screens I guess you've posted in your first post
2. About the gestures interface you've mentioned: how much like Penumbra?
3. Could you be more specific about the physics-related stuff you need implemented?

Sorry about the curtness, but I had the misfortune of working with another mod team a few months back, and the team lead there also had big plans for his project, which ended with the entire programming team quitting due to lack of direction, so I just want to be sure this time before volunteering :)

No problem at all, in answer to your questions:

1) I will be happy to email you screen shots as we do not currently have a web site, due to certain plans we have for the completed project.

2) The interface is a sensetive subject area :) In short, we look to procedurally control certain rig bones to perform cleaver interactions within the world, currently we don't wish these actions to be physics based - i'll explain MUCH more if you wish to talk further via Skype or (if you are in the uk?) over the phone.

3) The physics based interactions are again a subject area not for the public forums; however, I understand you want more info :) therefore I can say that we look to integrate AI meshes with physics based combat - we take influences from Half Life, the intended feel for StarWars Force Unleashed (as it was not as cool to play as originally described) and also the powers of Magneto. Other points I will happily say - outside of any commitment for you - but out of the public forums.

If you're from the UK and wish to call me I'll PM you my number, if not/either way - feel free to contact me on Skype: jonny_t2002

Hope to hear from you soon.

Many thanks.

We are looking for someone who has experience using the UDK/UE3, who is commited to seeing a project through and who can dedicate time to making something quality.

Great work guys. Pretty impressed with the results you came up with so far.
I fell uppon this when I noticed we use a very similar system for our own project when it comes to gameplay. Thankfully our story, theme and universe backround is way different.
