Overview
For the past year, I have been developing a fighting game using the MUGEN engine. It's a fairly decent engine, but not only does it lack the ability to create "modern-looking" games, there is no chance for legal distribution beyond free versions; which is not great for me as I intend to sell this game at some point. Here are a few older video demos of the game in action (http://www.youtube.com/user/liero116#grid/user/423C25182428BBAB).
The idea is basically a fighting game with 2D sprites in a 3D environment similar to BlazBlue (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUxh8sDIJg0&feature=fvw). The game I have been designing does not necessarily play like this, nor does it follow its design, but the 2D on 3D appeals to me. As of right now, I have fully animated 8 playable characters; 2 of which have 3 selectable fighting styles bringing the technical total up to 12. I have well over 30 planned with 3 styles for each (more info on the fighting system can be found here (http://mugenguild.com/forumx/index.php?topic=96463.0)).
The overall point of the final game is to have a cartoony fighting game that is accessible to anyone with a simple control style that makes it easy and fun for beginners with advanced techniques and combos to make it appeal to fighting game veterans.
About the team
Currently on the team is myself (as the leader), as well as a few other casual players who help me with testing and will at some point help with animations.
As for myself, I have done all the animations and coding for the game up to this point. I am by no means an expert or even intermediate programmer. It took me several months to learn the somewhat basic coding language for the MUGEN engine. Up to this point, I have done about 98% of the work and I am looking for a skilled programmer to lighten the load.
What I need
I need one or more skilled programmers to help me put this together in a fashion that is similar to the game displayed in the videos. I don't have any interest in making playable 3D characters in the game, so I would definitely need someone capable of integrating the 2D characters into the 3D engine through whatever means necessary. Short of a few minor touches here and there, the assets for all 8 characters are all done.
As of right now, this is, of course, unpaid. However, I honestly feel that this game could very easily be profitable if done correctly and I would be more than willing to share in whatever profits made.
As a plus someone living in the Los Angeles area would be greatly appreciated, but definitely not required by an means.
