Forgive me if I am infringing on a previously posted or thought of game type.

My Idea:

I will call the game type Infected for now.

5 v 5

Each team has an Annex/KOTH type counter.

Infinite respawn @ 15 sec intervals.

Game starts with the team trying to get the first kill.

The person with the first kill in the game becomes ""infected"".

The person with the infected status has 2 minutes to kill an opposing team member. If they kill someone, their timer resets to the 2 min mark but is reduced by 15 seconds each time a kill is recorded, down to the lowest of minimum of 30 secs. Each kill they get earns their team a point. It only counts as a valid kill if the infected person does it by themselves (eg can't take others downs), but it can be by any means and the other team can assist in damaging the opponent.

That person loses the infected status if their timer runs out or if they are killed by an opposing team member. The person who kills that infected person now becomes infected or If the timer runs out for the infected person, the person on the opposite team with the most points gains the infected status.

The Match is ended once the team reaches a certain point level.

Think Guardian, but there is only one leader at a time and they are forced to get kills to gain their team points. How the team works together to help them get kills or protects them is up to them.

Another idea or subsitution would be instead of having the infected person get kills to earn points, they team just earns points for every 15 secs a person on thier team has the infected status and it is only lost by being killed by the opposite team.

Its a kind of rough idea but i think the concept its cool. Let me know if you like this idea or anything you would suggest to improve it or make it more enjoyable.

Please don't call it "Infected" I'm thinking Halo 3 big time, right now. Though it reminds me of Halo, I think this is more of a well thought out game-type, it'd definitely be interesting.

While we're here, Ill add a gametype Ive been suggesting since Gears 1.

Protoype name: "Hold-out"

Ok so its the standard 5 vs. 5. The COG team spawns like a minute before Locust, to pick up all the power weapons, and set up camp. Then the Locust team spawns. So begins Hold-out mode.

The Cog team has the standard health, ammo, need to be executed (execution rules), and all that. The Locust have lower health, lower ammo, (Maybe no shotty?), and dont need to be executed (warzone rules). But how is that fair? Read on foo!

So since the COG has all these advantages, theres got to be a cache right? YUP! COG team doesnt respawn, die once and your done. Locust on the other hand do respawn. So whats the point of the game?

There is only two rounds in this game mode. COG team must live as long as they can, and get as many points as they can by killing Locust. The COG's points all added together, plus more points depending on how long they lived, will determine that team's final score. Then the teams switch. The Locust are now COG and they try to live longer and score more points.

I told my freind this idea, and he said it sounded like a PvP version of Horde. I guess it is, so you could refer to it as that. Anyway OP hope you dont mind this post, just didnt want to start a new thread.

Soul Reapir , no problem, i don't mind, your game type sounds like it would be pretty fun, i would def play it.

I never played Halo so i don't know what similarities are being referred to, but i appreciate the feedback.

I love it but with the kind of randoms ya get in Gears, it would be a horrible experience. 5 platinum stars for effort and creativity though.

Yeah, the only problem I see with a point "limit" is that if both teams reach the limit as COG, then how would the winner be determined?

Though, I can see how time may work. Lets just say the match is 10 minutes long, max. So if both teams survive all 10 minutes, then the decideing factor would be which ever team scored the most points on the feild. Thanks for the suggestion. Im trying to build up this idea as solid as I can, so thanks again. I may eventually make its own thread.

Oh and for the OP's Idea. The more I think about it, the more I see problems with idiots stealing the infected person's kill. I dont know how you would get around that problem...hmmmm

Bump. I think OP's mode needs work, but I hope Epic sees it, could be really fun.

Team deathmatch would be amazing but i can see it being out of balance sometimes due to host getting an excessive amount of kills.
