Hey guys...
Not much to say at this point. My requesting help thread is in the looking for help section of these forums. Im going to continue to learn new stuff and if need be I will have to create this game alone.
So far I have never used photoshop or unreal ed till yesterday. These are a few things I was testing and creating. Learning the materials editor and also importing. Photoshop was actually harder so far then unreal ed -.-...
anyway let me know what you think!

Thanks
BTW: Think I should tell u guys that all textures used are a maximum of 512x512 mainly due to the hope of keeping FPS high. and simplicity for better views of the battle field.

Just wanted to update u all on something i made last night... the map took like 5 min and it shows i know but the lighting took me a good couple of hours to configure pefect with all the builds...
I made this for testing 1 weapon only really... the shotgun.
so lots of little corners and close combat...
let me me know what u think....

Very nice. Chamfer the edges a little bit maybe. Have you done the normal mapping yet?

yea its normal mapped and its looking pretty good with it i think.. u really need to walk around or have lights around to notice the normals as i did not want them to distact the gamer to much and tried more for the effect of the walls being 3d while ur walking past them but not to much to distact u.
the edges will look better once i to through the map and line up all the textures.
I may add a touch more depth on the normal but im not to sure... when moving around to me it looks very strong and i dont wanna over do it (like stalker did with bump maps >.<)

I could kind of tell but from the angle of the screenshots it looked like it may have just been a really pretty texture. The floor is what set me off the most, but only one of the screenshots is close on it and the angle isn't great for showing it off I'd imagine.
And yes, you don't want to go overboard with it. But you do have to admit when you first say STALKER your first thought was how awesome everything looked. Then you played it and it crashed every ten minutes and suddenly it wasn't so cool anymore.
And the edges aren't bad, they just look really sharp on pillars. I shouldn't have said anything because all of the buildings for my game are going to probably end up just like that for the most part.
If you get some time, you should make a video of running around in it. It looks really nice from the images, and with a video we could see how good it really looks when you're playing it.

i doubt i will make a vid of it to be honerst.. its not even part of the game or anything
I just wanted to test some stuff out as i had never used photoshop or unreal engine before 2 days ago.
its all about learning... I already have a single custom weapon i made but its hard to iron out all the problems... next onto a game type.

Oh, I figured you were making a Counter Strike like game or something, my mistake.
Regardless it still looks good, I still haven't figured out the bump mapping (never had to do it before, in hindsight I probably should have asked about it) so nothing I made looks good.
