Hello fellow game developers! I am looking for a game team who will be dedicated to a big project. The title for this project is called "Wreckage." Right now I think I got a good opening cinematic, but it is somewhat of a cliche, so I'm still working to make it perfect. Now what Wreckage is it's a fps/tps dinosaur shooting game. By fps/tps I mean the player will be able to switch camera views while in game. The reason for this is so that whether a gamer likes a tps more that a fps he will have the power to change the camera view to his liking. I have many big ideas and cinematics already thought up for this game. I have been thinking up many ideas for this game for over 3 years. I have just started to get into 3D modeling about 7 to 8 months ago. I am a pretty good modeler, and my strongest category in game development is story writing. My main goal for Wreckage is to give dinosaur games a great name. I have gathered up other great gameplay ideas from other games such as Call of Duty:Modern Warfare 2, Gears of War, and Turok. I need people that have great skills in modeling, texturing, programming, and script writing. I need about roughly 8 people that know their stuff. If you have anymore questions for me please contact me here on the forums.
Sincerely,

Okay so I got 98 views but no posts. Would you like me to give more info? I have some concepts, but not all of them are that professional. Please tell me. I really want people to get interested in this project.

Hey there, I am not really interested in joining your team, but am however interested in the work that you've already done and the others may be interested as well I believe.. You might want to show some of the things you've done so far...

Well I haven't really done any work so far. I have thought of some great cinematics and made a couple of concepts. As far as modeling goes I haven't really made anything. I just made a portfolio and I put it on Youtube. If you are interested in seeing it just say so.

Well I haven't made an animation of it, but I will illustrate it for you. The Sahara Desert, July 17, 2025
War is what fuels our blood….War is the life blood of all human beings. Unfortunately war can go completely out of hand. *Feewm* *Feerwm* Watch out! We need to fall back! Keep firing! Ah ****! Man down! I repeat man down! General Knoxson we need to fall back! Hold your fire! General…! Silence private! But sir…! Wait till I give the orders! *Boom* *Boom* Ah!!! Private! Sir!... make those bastards pay! ugh! (the private slowly dies) Private! Private! Dammit! Fall back!!! I repeat fall back!!! General! General! They’re bringing out the Sky Lance! Oh ****! Move! Move! Move! Sir what are we going to do about all the other men on the battlefield? Private… you can’t save all of the people all of the time. Shreeeeeek!!! They’re firing it!!! The Sky Lance shoots its 5 torpedoes. The torpedoes then break into millions and millions of shards of molten copper. My God sir! It looks like the gate ways of Hell. Let’s go private.

“We lost too many soldiers on operation Steel Rain” said President Xavier. “Mr. President, I know that Steel Rain didn’t go as planned but…” “Didn’t go as planned! Didn’t go as planned! Thousands of our soldiers died on that operation, and all you’ve got to say it didn’t go as planned?!” “Sir if you would just let me speak” said, General Knoxson. “The floor is yours general.” “Now I know that we lost a lot of people on that operation. There was no possible way that we would’ve pulled back in time. I’m sorry that we lost so many comrades sir.” “Thank you general. You may sit down now.” “Thank you sir.” “Well ladies and gentleman of the board. I’m out of options. It would be a great help if anyone else found another way to win this war.” “Uh excuses me sir…” “State you name doctor.” says the President. “Doctor Adam Phoenix at your service sir.” “You were saying Doctor. Phoenix.” “Oh yes. Well it might be a long shot, but…” Come! Out with it doctor. We don’t have all day!” “Okay, sorry sir. I was going to suggest that since we don’t have enough time to make a weapon to counteract the Sky Lance. I think our best bet would be to recreate the most monstrous beings that have ever walked this earth.” “What are you suggesting doctor?” “What I’m suggesting sir is why not try and recreate dinosaurs?” “That’s outrageous!” says one of the boardroom members. “Silence all of you!” says President Xavier. “How do you propose we recreate these dinosaurs doctor?” “Well we have been constructing a substance that will fix all of the missing gapes in DNA. We still have to prefect it sir. These dinosaurs won’t look like there natural counterparts. They will be stronger, faster, and more agile than the regular dinosaurs of 65 million years ago.” “So you think we have a shot at this Dr. Phoenix?” “I think it might be our only chance sir.” “Fine then I now pronounce this mission… Operation WRECKAGE!”
This is just a rough draft of the final cinematic.

Any input or suggestions would be nice. I want the cinematic to be as epic as possible. I also thought up an amazing conclusion cinematic.

I think what you'll find generally is that people will be hesitant to join a project that is just an idea. If you have skills then demo something visually first. Even if it's just a model..

Thank you dude. Hey I don't really know any coding so I don't think I should be able to make a demo. I'm still figuring out they final looks for each dinosaur and character. Do you think if I show some concept art and maybe some more ideas people will be more interested?

Art is something, and it will prove you are dedicated to making it happen. Many ideas go nowhere, at least making some art is the first step to a concrete product. My philosophy is that pretty much everyone has an idea, but without actions nothing will come of most ideas. But you said you're a modeler, so if you can I'd even go ahead and try to model something of your own before trying to build a team. An idea isn't reason enough for people to hop aboard with you. You don't have to have EVERY thing done, but enough to give people a sense of what you're going for, that's more likely to get people interested than a couple of blurbs of text (or even a detailed document).. Text is boring to read. You want to make a game so you need something visual to demonstrate.

Do you think it would be wise if I put this project on hold, and joined another game company, so I can see how a game company functions and it also gives me time to learn more things.

It's not a bad idea, if you want to do things right. Seeing the way other studios do it is very useful, that's the way great productions are made, observe others, what they do and why they do it, and maybe you will also see some things you know you don't want to make the same mistake in doing when you're getting your own project off the ground.
Also, you may be excited to get started but you may find that given a bit of time, you might be glad that you gave it some breathing room because you were able to step back and look at your own ideas more objectively, reexamine and improve them.
