Greetings to all the UDK community!

First post here so I figured I would introduce myself while I am searching for potential noob-partners in crime. I come from a web design/actionscript programming background.

I made Asteroids!

Oh the wondrous joy that is 80's game clones!

Just for reference, here is one of the best sites I've made, try not to salivate too much on your keyboard.

Anyway, I know some things, so I am not a total noob. I also have experience with the following technologies even though I am still at a beginner's level;

Unity3D
Cinema4D
ZBrush
Visual C# (I MADE CONSOLE GAMES!!!)
XNA Game Studio (I MADE PONG!!!)
Brothers in Arms:Hell's Highway mapping (At least some UnrealEditor experience)

So there you go. On top of that I speak Spanish and French fluently, plus German and Italian if you're patient. So if you're from any of these countries, then we should probably get together. Also, if any of you dudes and dudettes would like to learn French or Spanish, or English (cause I speek it good) for that matter, then we could definitely do a sort of skills exchange.

I have game ideas galore but obviously my aim for Christmas break is just to get as good as possible with UDK during my time between school semesters.

Now, if you are an already established team, don't fear my noobery. I am not one of these typical noobs that make a new thread about whether you can make an MMO with UDK or not. I'm the type of noob that doesn't stay a noob very long. So if you want a noob that will pan out into one mean tough son of a ***** in the future, then I'm your guy.

Just look at my writing skills! They are totally tits!

Anyhoo, hit me up, I'll send you my MSN contact and we can just chat about anything.

What exactly is it that you're interested in learning, since you say you do have some UnrealEd experience.. would help to make that part clearer.

Well, for now, I just want general UDK knowledge. How to use all the editors, how to import meshes, UnrealScript, and anything like that. Enough to possibly prototype an advanced Asteroids game or something like that. Once I do that, I will probably then specialize in a certain area, like programming or art work. I am not specifically looking for a tutor, unless someone wants to do that language exchange thing, just a buddy that I can have on MSN that I can chat with when I am having problems with Kismet or my girlfriend is acting like a *****. That sort of thing.

Agree re: Asteroids. I'd love to make that multiplayer, and give it sound :D

I am quite impressed with the work you have accomplished. Very polished and Prof. in design. If you are looking for experince and not too worried on working with some old farts and some people breaking into the buisness as well? I'd like to discuss you coming on board with our team as well. We're established site wise, a good and well patrolled forum for discussion and such. A Share Database with the team to keep assets updated as we go along and progress. I hope we meet up to your standards and what you might be looking for in a group that like teamwork.

Sorry about this afternoon, I'm still at work atm, but would love to discuss things with you. Especially the character you did with Maya for UDK that was pretty nice.

At first - I thought you were saying that your web design skills were so awesome that we would start salivating, which I thought was pretty good bragging. But after clicking the link - yeah :p

It seems like you have a fine set of skills to build off of and an equally fine way of going about asking for help. Usually everyone on these forums is very helpful when approached correctly.
Except for me of course. You've got to butter me up something awful.

Since this is quickly becoming a place for nooblets to commune:
gbjacksoncreations@gmail.com

And my new and ugly (but interesting) website:

www.gbjacksoncreations.net

I fiddled just some with UT3 mutators, and have an extensive non-professional background in RPG creation and writing. Should any team be in need of any writing/design collaboration. Or just more witty banter.

Best luck, mates.
