Erm this is a pretty stupid question, but why is the link gun so much better and cutting through the fracture walls when compared to the rocket launcher / shock rifle?
Is it down to :-
Fire rate
Collision of the gun
Just its pretty confusing that a giant rocket is less likely to damage a wall compared to a laser...

Trace-hit weapons (like the shock rifle) calls TakeDamage on the FracturedStaticMeshActor, which can remove just one 'chunk' per call. Splash damage weapons like rockets should call BreakOffPartsInRadius to break off multiple parts with some radius. It's possible though that these two approaches have not been well tuned against each other in the sample UT game code - we didn't have FracturedStaticMeshes for UT3!
