hey everyone, i'm a artist with over 7 years experience making game art and many shipped games. due to some large publishers deciding to fire huge lumps of their staff here lately i'm finding myseld with spare time. Me and a friend have came up with an idea for a game and we can cover all the art but need a talented coder/scripter that can help bend UDK to our will.
the game will be a toony diabloish action game set in the southwest america and mexico, and eventualy space a mexican lucha and retired texas ranger team up to defend the planet against hordes of alien robots, zombies and alien robot zombies.
2 player co op one using close range mele attacks and the other ranged combat with 6 shooters and shotguns. they will also be able to use a captured robot, one controling it and the other operating its weapons.
i started this morning on some static meshes to demonstrate the look of the game. everything here is temp and i will update this thread as i tweak the art.
if anyone is interested please give me a yell on aim at "thuntea" or an email at rhinokio at gmail com
thanks for your time.

I like the style, but I'm not really in a position to help. Maybe it's time you made yourself a bigger asset to the "large publishers" by learning some UnrealScript so they'll keep you next time ;)

i dont think it woulda helped much since we didnt use unreal, and since pretty much the whole studio is gone now.

Looking very nice, Rhinokio! Sorry to hear about your job. :(
This is the most promising ad I've seen so far. Good luck! :D

Have you considered joining another team?
You might find that you fit better into another team, rather than starting your own from scratch. Just a suggestion. :)
You have a nice style going there though, good work.
(P.S. Crystal Core is looking for artists (and others) if that interests you)

Hey, I *really* like that box canyon, and the textured toon effect for the Canyon walls. You show a good eye on design. Love the catus too btw. I know I'll be following this one, just on the art alone.

I've been helping a bit with the Terminator mod over on the UT3 forum. It doesn't seem that active so if you need some models, I could probably take on some smaller assets (it would help my portfolio as well)...here's some of what i have been working on.

hey guys chris2009 has joined on as coder and has already made great progress, here is a thread we got to put stuff in as we go on my native forums, polycount.com
those of you offerin me places on other teams, thanks but the whole reason i started this was to do my own thing for once and its going ahead faster than i coulda imagined.
and those of you offering to help, thanks, at the momment we are keepping the team as small as possible but when production gets ramped up we may be recruiting more.
again thanks for showing an interest!
