Could anyone confirm that the Collada skeletal mesh import is still a feature of
the engine and wasn't abandoned?
(Otherwise I have to start working on a PSA/PSK exporter for modo...)

Cheers.

I too am using modo and would love to hear about it if you do get a psa/psk exporter going
or if anyone has any information on using colllada

I try collada with animated character and it didn't work at all.

but static meshes worked but only with single meshes.

What's is bugging me is that the importer recognized the files but failed il.

Collada skeletal doesn't work with UDK but it does work with the older UT3 editor. Maybe you can use UT3 and transfer the package files to UDK. Just an idea, maybe possible maybe not.

The problem with transferring assets from UT3 is that you have only one shot:
you copy it from the UT3 pack to the final location in the UDK pack and that's
that. You can't do it again, because by then the asset already exist and it
can't be replaced.

If something is referencing it then you can't even delete it to be recreated later
with the same name.

If you keep the UT3 pack in UT3 format then you can not save it from UDK,
otherwise its format gets updated and can't be loaded again in UT3.
