Hello Everyone.

My Name is Matt and I am about to begin construcion on a game called Scylla. Scylla is set far in the future, When Humanity has become one society and, after depleting all of earths resources, have banded together in a single monsterous city. Humans are prosperous and the new society runs smooth without so much as a warning to the horrors ahead.

Your story begins as the airlock on your hibernation chamber opens and you fall dazed from the unschedualed awakening, looking around you instantly notice that your chamber malfunctioned and did not open during the emergency that called all available security. Being of the highest rank your awakening can only mean something truelly horrible has happened.

The surrounding area is deserted, the Security HQ looks as though it has been abandoned recently and has suffered severe damage. All exits are blocked and the only way out is through a duct clearly out of reach, close to the ceiling.

Gameplay:
The game has little to no weapons, being part of the perfect society means the removal of such items. The catch however is that you are in possession of a PGMA (Personal Gravity Minipulation Armour) which allows you to walk on any surface be it walls, ceilings anything with total disregard for conventional physics, walk towards a wall then straight up it.

The game will play like a intense cinematic puzzle game, escape death by running up the side of a building while it collapses? run along the bottom of a train as it falls through the air towards the ground? anything is possible. the game will require fast thinking and even faster reactions, as you run through the doomed city as it collapses around you.

Available Positions.

Programmer- Will need to be able to code the ability to run along walls and so on. Will also need to be able to make menus and other things, although the backgrounds will be done by Level artists

Concept Artists- I will require you to draw what I have envisioned, I will need to describe it to you in detial.

Story/Game Design- People to come up with puzzles and other cinematic things.

Modelers- I am a modeler and Level designer myself however I cannot do it all. I will most likely make the suit and other props.

Texture Artists- People to create the paint that will go on our walls.

Level Desiners- One of the hardest jobs however will be one of the most rewarding.

Just trying to get a picture of what the game play would be like and how challenges would be designed, what are you thinking of for combat? Hand to hand kinda stuff?

Yes the combat will focus mainly on hand to hand fighting, however it will be more about the puzzles than anything else, kinda like a intense version of portal, it should require mimimal coding but the art will be difficult. I originally planned this for the Source engine as I was already adept at creating Maps, Models etc but when I heard of the UDK I decided I should move it to Unreal.

Gotta say love the concept and introduction to the story. If you need a writer I'd love to flesh out the story and game plot for you? I can also build websites and the graphic design side of things. Logos etc

Sounds good, I do need my story fleshed out a bit.

Also as far as the concept art, I see you are good at anime style art but what about realistic scenes? character design and other concept items, maybe if I could see some realistic art from you. Anyway its good to see some interest.

I also do comics so could provide you with a short comic to begin as an into to the story. What you describe above sounds great. It can also work well as marketing material ;)

Anyway if you like what you see if you'd like to send me what you have so far and the direct you'd like to take I'll work on a draft with backtory etc If it makes it easier for you you can send me an agreement stating all characters names etc are your copyright and not to be used for any other purposes blah blah.

Something I like to do as standard so everythings clear and you know your not gonna get ripped off!! As I said love your idea and love to take the concept further with you.

it was interesting reading the story. although i might not be of any help yet but still i will keep track of the progress of your game,hope it will be cool and i believe you trying to make something similar to Heavy Rain , game play wise.
