It would be awesome if the dev team of The Haunted UT3 Total Conversion could make a stand alone version of the Haunted !
We need a petition right now to make this dream comes true ! :D

I'm pretty sure it was stated in this forum somewhere that The Haunted was already being converted over to UDK.

yeah I know , but they are going to make a commercial game I think .
If they release it as a commercial game , I think I won't ever play it ..

If you want a free version play the UT3 version. Why should they not be allowed to make money and be rewarded for their efforts? Kind of a poor attitude in my opinion. I hope this is not the prevalent attitude with respect to games made with UDK.

Calm down ! I can agree to make money with a game , but they have already released a free version of this game which is called a mod because you need UT3 ... There is for me a big problem of ethics.

OK, what about Killing Floor? What about RO? What about Team Fortress? What about CounterStrike?
Do you have an ethical problem with any of those games?

most of those games are actually and still mods (and have free alternatives).
About Killing Floor ,I think he has been upgraded and worth this upgrade since Unreal Tournament 2004 .

The KF standalone engine has some significant upgrades since UT04's engine, afaict. All of those games were mods that have gone commercial. I see no difference at all in comparing.

I agree , with ffejnosliw . Alot of these modders want to became game developers they just use modding as a start , to get their foot in the door . And when udk came out , this is there big chance . If they want to make money for there hard work , I don't blame them. I am going to do the same , it keeps more food on the table , and feel's more rewarding when you make money off your countless hour's of hard work . And besides if you really like there game you should be glad to support them anyway .

You should change the title of this thread as it's in past tense indicating it has already been released, the release you're asking for that is.
Very misleading.

Unless they improve animations, it's a no buy for me.

very unreal

aww, all maps and many meshes in ut3 are compatible with haunted right now, if they change to udk, then maps and meshes will not be interchangeable anymore :(
if only epic would update ut3 engine.... but their support record is...

I'd like to be able to change the thread title , but i can't :p
