Hey everyone,
I was wondering how my favorite map "Shangri La" from Unreal Tournament 3 would look in UDK
Here is the result:

Quite nice, quite nice.
So how does your version perform compared to UT3's? It was always a huge FPS hog. Curious if it's gotten better or worse using Lightmass.

Really nice work. I like the lighting in the 3rd image down, is that volume fog simulating godrays?
Great stuff,
Matt.

Epic's graphic artists are awesome. It's nearly six years since these map were made and they still look state of the art.

The fps is the same if I turn ambient occlusion off, my laptop can't handle it.

These are cones with a light material on it, very cheap and looks cool. The only thing I added myself was the lens flare. The light importance volume makes the bloom in the skybox disappear, a lense flare also looks better then the bloom

There's a little brown on your nose there. UT3 came out 3 years ago, btw.

UT3 was in development since around 2005. I doubt most of the maps included in the game are that old, though. I'd guess they could be between 3-4 years old.

All of these UDK ports seem to look overly bright and yellow.

Man,
I guess it's time to re-release Unreal Tournament 3 with a graphical update. Light Mass for all maps.
I'd buy it instantly. But I know it won't happen. :P
edit
I mean...this just shows that UT3 has been released a tad too early.
The center of the map just looks gorgeous and nearly photorealistic. How I would have loved to play there.........

Agree. I had been under the impression that UT3 was going to have vastly improved everything, but IMO it appeared to me to be more of UT04.
