Not very relevant for indie devs. But it's interesting to ask.

APEX Destruction / APEX Clothing / APEX Vegetation / APEX Turbulence are they integrated into UDK?

It's integrated, but you don't have all the tools to use it until Nvidia release them.

I never noticed the menu options you mention here. Thank you for the info.

My feelings on the situation (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWaLxFIVX1s)

Sorry for necroing this thread, but since it is preferable to making a completly new post of the same topic :p

The APEX toolset are supposed to get released really soon (end of september, this month, or whenever it goes out of private beta).

My question is if the UDK version of Speedtree will be upgraded to feature the APEX Vegetation functionality and export?

no it will stay speedtree you just will finally be able to apply physx like in the video using APEX

What?

I'd assume we'll eventually see SpeedTree being updated, but I honestly wouldn't count on it being any time soon.

what...is this

"A Live Oak tree is hand drawn on-the-fly directly in the SpeedTree 5.1 Modeler. After the tree is created in under 1 minute, physical interaction is provided instantly via the APEX Vegetation Module, a division of PhysX™ by NVIDIA."

Basicly you create in speedtree and apply physx apex is what I meant

SpeedTree modeller in UDK is version 5.0. It doesn't have APEX support.
