I intend to import soccer field to Unreal Editor. I've converted this model (http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=7fc6afa0b8c3ec9d69856ab03b318817&ct=mdrm&prevstart=0) to 3DS. After playing with it a bit in Max 2010, I've exported it to ASE and imported it to UnrealED. These are my problem.

1. Missing render in UnrealED. The goal mesh was missing when looking at the front. It could only be seen at the back. These are the pictures. (http://img517.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=27578472.jpg) But it looked perfectly fine in Max.
2. When I applied the materials in LOD, they weren't properly assigned to static mesh. I applied the first material and it was painted on entirely meshes.

If you want, these are max scene + 3DS and textures. I've tried to import them to UnrealED for many hours. I feel very headache. -_-

You can try two things. Duplicate the faces for the goal mesh in max, select them right click (when in edit poly mode) and flip face... or you can use a two sided material in unreal.

Hope that helps.

1. The net needs to be 2 sided. I believe you can make it 2 sided in the material, but I'm not sure.
2. The material slot in UDK corresponds to the material ID in Max. If your meshes are different pieces, but all have a material ID of 1 than they will all use the first material slot in UDK.

I'm also wondering if we can use both editable mesh and editable poly? Does it matter
