I see similar questions posted but no real replies: how do I get an ASE export from Maya for static mesh?
The Actor X documentation says "The Maya and XSI plugins also provide tools to export static meshes to .ase" but the ActorX dialog box I see in Maya doesnt have any ASE options. I looked at the info tab inthe Maya plug in manager and saw there were a few other plugin features one of which is axmesh. I run that and get the following options dialog: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y239/Longstep70/unreal/axmesh.jpg
Is this the right app for the export and does anyone know how i find out what the options do?

Just press «Export Mesh» button and than you`ll see that file will be exported as ACE:

Yes, I figured that much out; what I'd like to know is what the options mean, especially the mesh options at the bottom..
