Hey just thought i would ask if there are some fellow mocap guys out there who can provide a basic tutorial for how mocap is brought into UDK and how to do the setup work for a face rig inside of FaceFX. I already have access to a nice vicon camera system would love to start bringing animation into UDK for messing around.

Make the animations in 3ds Max or Maya and use the ActorX plugin to bring them over to the UDK.

If you know how to retarget data, then retarget using Motion Builder to a rig you have, compile as many clips as needed in the scene, then bring that into 3DS Max or Maya and export the animation segments. If you want to bind to EXISTING UnrealED models, then you need to get that rig first.

As far as I know, though, there's no need to use the UT3 skeleton anymore, unless you're going to modify the UT3 UDK demo. The UDK itself supports many skeleton types.
