Just place an importance volume around your level and the message will go away.

What are volumes and for what are they used?
(The documentation only teaches how to use, but don't say for what)
How do i put a volume? :S.

What it basically does is lower the quality of lighting calculations from sources within the volume cast on objects outside the volume. All objects inside the volume will still be lit at whatever quality you specify.
This speeds up lighting calculations and generally doesn't make a difference in visual quality if setup correctly as the objects outside the volume should be fairly far away thus not needing detailed lighting calcs.
But how do i put that importance volume?

Make your builder brush a really big box around your level, and instead of hitting csgadd or csgsubtract, go to Brush-> Add Volume -> LightmassImportanceVolume

You can change the KillZ by going to 'View>World Properties'. Inside the World Properties is a "ZoneInfo" tab. Expand that and you'll see "Kill Z". You can change the height of it (and other settings) in there.

I find it kind of odd that there is a default KillZ value set but it gives an error unless you explicitly change it. Is that a bug or a feature?

definitely feature. Nobody likes falling for 3 minutes before the level resets :P
Also, Allar, I'm a HUGE fan of your tutorials. They are very professional, and extra insightful, and have been a huge benefit to me (doing final project for a games degree in Australia this semester). Good luck with book & The Hunt.

I'm actually finding the same thing, even if I have a really simple scene it still hangs on "collecting the scene" for ages, I'm pretty sure it used to run a lot faster. Plus when I move around the viewport I'm getting a lot of 'jumping'. Any info on this would be great :)

Later versions take very long time to build the first time. Goes much faster on subsequent build.
