Having a sort of annoying issue with ZoneAlarm and Lightmass. I have to give Swarm permission to access the internet every time I build lighting in my level. This is because Swarm creates a new "UnrealLightmass.exe" every time lighting is built, so ZoneAlarm can't remember the "Allow" setting.
I wish ZoneAlarm supported wildcards, I'd just make it "allow" every program in the SwarmCache folder. That, or maybe Swarm could just stick to one Lightmass exe :)
Anyone else having this issue? Anyone know of a work around?

Yeah same thing happens to me on one of my XP machines running ZA. Not positive but setting program control to Low or Off might help.

Just get a decent Firewall... ZA sucks.

I'm having the same problem with COMODO, Win7 x64.

I had the same problem. I'm using Comodo Firewall 3.12 but this should be possible in other firewalls as well.
Here is one solution:
In Comodo Firewall, open the firewall page -> firewall tasks advanced -> network security policy. Click Add.. button -> Select button -> file groups: executables. Click Add.. button below and enter this:
Action : allow
Protocol : TCP
Direction: out
Source address: any
Dest. address: single IP : 127.0.0.1
Source port : any
Dest. port: a single port : 8008
And then Apply, Apply and OK and you should be OK :)
I'm having the same problem, using Comodo.
It looks like the UDK copies the LightMass Executable to a temporary directory every time the Lighting is being built, which causes Comodo and other Firewalls to think that its a different program - asking for new policy every time.
Going to use pjotor's suggestion, thanks !

I have Zone Alarm and tried it this way:
Before I start the UDK I activate the "game mode" for Zone Alarm....may it's not the securest solution, but it works.
