I would like to know some more about applying custom materials to post processing effects. I have made my PP chain and now im unsure as to how i display it in the level, I couldnt find any settings to apply my custom PP chain on volume or world properties. Is the only way to override the default in the .ini or call it in with scripts?

Yes you need to override the .ini or do it through scripts

You can also just modify the PP chain thats already in UDK, if you have left some base stuff in there anyway. It can be found in UDKGame>Content>Effects>Fx_HitEffects>UTPostProcess_Console.
