View Full Version : New Fracture Tool

Has anyone got this fully working yet? When I try it, it dutifully fractures my mesh, then sort of goes "dead", meaning it no longer accepts damage and just sits there. Collision is still intact, but weapon fire flies through it and refuses to break up anymore after one go. I can tell this thing'll be awesome once I figure it out.
Basically it breaks up a bit once, then goes dead on me. If anyone has got this working, would appreciate a little insight.

Good lord I didn't think Hourences already had this stuff up, I loved his stuff back in early UT3. Shame on me for not checking, thanks!
Edit: yah doesn't really answer my questions though. I figured most of that out by just playing with it. Actually what got things working for me was a "Fix Isolated Chunks" checkbox, but my chunks don't have proper collision. They also seem to be using the collision of the original mesh still. Anyone have things blow up with collision on the chunks?

Actually his mod, "The Ball", was one of the UDK demos.

I had the same problem danimal..
Fixed by adding support chunks, as they are essential for any fractured object apparently.
I put all the bottom ones as support and destructable! And I also deselected Use Simple Box and Line..since I wanted to pass through my little hole in the wall..
I'm facing a new problem however..After I've carved my hole the chunks have no collision.
Anybody know a fix for that??
