View Full Version : Static mesh multi mat

Im trying to import a model from 3d studio max using multi material but when i view it in the static mesh editor i can only see one of the materials. any idea how i can increase the number? clearly this is a lot different from the older version i have used in the past (UE2.5)

Any help would be appreciate

Edit- I do have a multimat material applied in 3d studio max if that helps.

Multi Sub Object material right?

Make sure that all materials and maps in that multi sub object material have a unique name. If two of them share a name the engine might get confused. UT3 did anyhow.
Empty slots in the multi sub object material tree, or a changed order of the tree may also cause problems.

If nothing helps, remove all materials from the mesh in Max, and start over with a new material.

The process didn't change all that much compared to UE2.

For the sake of me not making another topic i have one more question.
when importing a static mesh i receive a message saying generated/imported vertex count ration 20/8 exceeds expected percentage (150.00 percent vs 25.00 percent expected). is this something to be worried about?
