I've made a very simple level (http://i36.tinypic.com/2ai07ye.png). But when I try to play it, my camera is uncontrollable and constantly forces me to look straight up. I can move my mouse to look down, but the camera is constantly fight me to look back up. This is my first day with UDK I was just hoping I could get something working that I could run around in. Is there some default orientation I need to set? I've tried rotating the player, but it doesn't make any difference.

This may more may not be relevant, but I thought something was up with mine at first and which way I was facing wasn't exactly consistent like your case, but my mouse sensitivity was way to high and turning it down fixed the problem - This was also in the UT3 Editor so I could be way off... but Its something to check out at least!

Do you mean your mouse works/worked fine in all situations except inside a game compiled by the UDK?

Correct. As soon as I got in game, if i bumped the mouse just the slightest, it went out of control. The IN GAME mouse sensitivity was set to the highest level (20 I think?) I brought it down to about 7 if I remember correctly, it worked as expected - aka fixed the problem.

I just did a quick check in UDK (As I mentioned before, I had this problem in UT3) and It seems there is no way to get to a setting for mouse sensitivity... I'm guessing there has to be a setting somewhere in the Editor or UnrealScript, but I am not sure where to start.

I've tried 2 different mice and turning the sensitivity all the way down in my control panel. I don't even have to bump the mouse for this to happen. When the game starts, I'm looking forward for .1 seconds and then the camera just starts to look up. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate RC 64 bit maybe it's my system?

edit: Ok, I tried the example game (which is basically UT3) and had the same issues, so it maybe it's the OS. I'll try upgrading to the actually released version of 7. It's weird I have no issues with Whizzle though.

I only get it when I test my level in the editor, not in actual UT3 game

Problem solved.

I could not really explain why but here was my solution...
I had a joystick adapter connected for months now that I forget the existence.
There had NO joystick connected to the adapter.
So nothing could disturb my OS or software.
My OS and softwares running very well for months.

Anyway!

I remember the existence of yhis thing.
I disconnected. I run UDK. I run a test.

Abracadabra. It works!

I hope it will help others in future =)
