View Full Version : Cant install UDK
Ok guys I have been searching the forums and the internet and I can't figure out how to fix it. This last time it crashed when it was Decompressing File Binaries/win32/PhysXLocal/PhysXLoader.dll
I am running MS Vista 64. I ran the UDK install as admin. IT takes forever to load the thing up and get going and It keeps crashing on install... Any help would be much appreciated. I'm running a HP Pavilion PV5 if that helps.

Sounds like a corrupt download - does the md5 checksum check out?
Cheers

I don't even know how to check. I have downloaded as many copies as I can find on the internet. The last one was from Gamers hell.

I got pratically the same problem, with the file StatsThreshold.exe
I also tryed to run as administrator, which gave me this error :
Error Message: External component has thrown an exception.
For possible solutions go to:
I did an MD5 Check, everything was fine...
I tryed installing in multiple locations, including the default one, but nothing changed.
I am currently on Windows 7 64 Bit, people report to have successfully installed the UDK on the same OS. I seriously don't know what is the problem.
Video card : HD 4890, I never had problems with most of the nvidia plugin even if I had an ATI.... All the updates were done, OS is almost freshly installed... I don't know whats going on.

I also fail to figure out why this installer is filled so much with bugs. I mean if this is the fault of all the third party software, why didn't you release the core files independently, and then tell the user what was the required files to make the software work.
Right now, this is so messed up that it never fail on the exact same files over and over, it just keep failing at random files during the whole process, and this doesnt seem to have a lots of stuff to do with the current PC specs.
I have also noticied that the installer try to install Direct X 9.0.... what if we got a higher version of it, does it verifiy it like the normal direct X installer? same thing with the other independent installers.

ShaZe88, did you ever get it to install? Do you have a firewall or an anti virus running? Have you tried re-downloading it from a different location?
Have you tried any of these:
