Ok I'm sure this question is gonna be asked a lot now. Let's say I have a completed level I created with the UT3 Editor that uses both custom and UT3 static mesh models and materials, has all the kismet and matinee stuff set up how do I bring it all into UDK so I can continue working on it?

I tried opening my files and all the models and materials are missing. Looking at the file structure for UDK I'm hoping it's just a matter of redirecting the program to look in the right folders for everything.. if so .. how do I do this?

I looked at the UDK's Generic Browser and I could not find the open files option..

I'm also looking for an answer to this question. I did have a little luck making a copy of the 'Environments' folder from the UT3 directory, renaming the copy and moving it to the UDK directory. My paths and weapons lockers had to be recreated, however, so it's still not an effective solution.

There has got to be a solution that works. Surely someone considered the fact that everyone using the UDK would want to be able to open their maps created using Unreal Ed.
There's no way that Epic would allow such a HUGE oversight, right?

It works as far as intended. The reason you have to re add weapon stuff is because the only weapons in the UDK are the link gun, shock rifle and rocket launcher, thus making maps in the UDK for UT3 is considerably difficult.

Along with the fact that you cannot put UDK maps back into UT3 due to UT3 not having any of the new features....

If you copy your upk files of to the matching UDK directory you should be able to see them in your generic browser when, but mind you that you need to right click on them and choose "fully load" in order to see them or use them (afaik, UDK recompiles your stuff when you load them the first time).

Not sure what the word is on copying the original UT3 stuff to your UDK directory. I gues that using them for personal projects is alright, but any form of distribution is will probably be out of the question.

If you mean static meshes and material etc you could copy them over by package to the UDK environments folder.
