Cover nodes

Sorry if this is the wrong place but how do you use the cover nodes or are they disabled?

"comma+left click" is the button to place cover nodes into the level. You should see a cross hair icon attached to a red box.

I think he means do they work in game. If that was the question then i think (not entirely sure) they are disabled, and are left for people look at from previous engine games like Gears of War.
