For the past few months, me and my team (we're all students) have been looking for an engine for a game. The idea is there, but there are just so many good engines and it's hard to choose.
Today I heard that UDK became free. Since our game will be a free game (sponsored), we really liked the idea of using the UDK. So, we came together at my house and started experimenting with the UDK a bit. I already knew the UEd myself because of a school project some time ago, but have never done any scripting for it. (I'm lead programmer on the team)
Now this question may sound super dumb, but after I installed the UDK on my computer (Windows 7 x64) I clicked the Game button and it nicely started UTGame. I looked through the documentation a lot, and looked through the .uc files. I really like the way unreal works. However, about an hour ago I wanted to try changing the splash (well, you have to change somewhere, right? ^^) so I copied UTGame to a new folder (<gamename>Game) and changed Splash.bmp. But how do I run that game?:D
There are zero executables in the <gamename>Game and zero .bat files. Binaries has a lot of folders and files, but after I changed UnrealFrontend.Settings.xml to match the correct game name, it simply changed back. So, how do I set the active game?
Thank you,
Tom
Told you it'd be a stupid question.
