Is anyone using UDK on Windows 7? I'm planning on upgrading, but I'm not sure if UDK will run on Windows 7 (the site mentions vista, so I'm assuming it won't have too many problems).

Thanks =D

We have a few known issues with Windows 7, like e.g. with UAC enabled and non-admin users and installing to the C:\ drive, though it can be made to work.

Andre, does running UDK-INSTALL-DIR\Binaries\Windows\UE3Redist.exe manually help?

What error do you get trying to run the game and/ or editor after the manual "install"?

Running Windows 7 x64 ultimate, but I have trouble installing. It just quits at random points in the installation.

I tried installing as administrator and on another disk than C:, but no luck.
Also tried downloading from different locations...

I was wondering if there maybe is a problem having ATI graphics card? Considering the Nvidia PhysX drivers being installed?

Any tips?

Windows 7 x86 here. The installer was constantly generating the "Stopped responding" crash. This was fixed by setting the installer to windows vista compatibility. No problems since then.

Feztec, are you using the default settings when installing?

You shouldn't be installing to just C:\. Installing to C:\UDK\UDK-2009-11 is the intended install path.

You can also try installing with UAC disabled

Yes, ideally you want to be Admin with UAC disabled - installing to a valid path. If that still doesn't work, make sure all drivers are up to date, and restart.

YAY, I finally got it installed.

Thanks for all the latest tips.

AaronJones, previously I was installing to the default map path, only not the C disk.
I turned off UAC, restarted and installed as Administrator.
First onto another disk than C, then on C (with the default map path).

Everyting worked this time.

Got some great ideas I wanna see if I can make. Wohoo!

Win 7 with GTX 295. Install goes clean. All loads from splash look normal, but I get bluescreen on start up the actual editor.

Feel I've tried everything..
