I'm assuming that the UDK is very similar to the UT3 editor in that LightWave support has been removed. It would be really great if there was an easy way to get my LightWave work into UDK. I've just started playing with the free Unity engine and it's LW support is really nice, but I think UDK might have some better features.

Is there not a third party exporter for Lightwave? I know there is for both Modo and Blender. Heck, I even wrote one for Modo, a couple of years ago (static meshes only, mind).

I don't know, there's FBX and Collada built in, but I just remember having trouble getting my stuff into UT3 Ed when I tried a while back. I just know unity is a lot cheaper (especially now that the indie version is free) and it supports full LW objects, characters, rigs with bones, and animation. I would assume a big company like epic would have no trouble with this.
