View Full Version : Multiplayer Gameplay?
alright im gonna be honest im probably awaiting this game just as much as the next person or more...but a question.
from what we've seen on the multiplayer can anyone describe the gameplay?
for instance is it more of a ghost recon, halo?
im just asking because PREY was a highly anticipated game and although the single player was ok, i just found the multiplayer to be very...well...unenjoyable. felt way too quaky or unreal tournament. and to be honest quake style of gaming is only fun for so long (well i guess for me...this is totally opioinative)
so anyways any ideas of gameplay...what game you can probably compare it too?

From what people have said, it's tactical, but has a Halo-esque feel to it..but it's still unique.

Its a tactical survival deathmatch, where cover is key to not getting killed.

ya but like ten times better than GRAW ;)
In GRAW they have taken away all the cool ways of covering your ass into wall. As far as I understand from the MP video, the cover works just as great in MP as it does in SP.

I think it will have the strategical side that GRAW tried to do, but the health system will be more like Halo.

yeah, in MP cover will be just as important as in SP. so they will definatly keep in the cover for MP:D

You kind of had the answer in your question, it will be GRAW as far as tactics and cover, but much faster paced and smoother flowing ala halo

Its a slower-paced game when it comes to battles, but encounters will last alot longer and stick in your mind a little better. Even when I was playing Halo 1 I would try and hide behind rocks and shoot at the enemy from there.
I like Cover. Its my BEST friend.

Quake and Doom are in diff genres themselves, Quake is a fast paced tournament style deathmatch game, where jumping, and map control, and fast thinking skills are needed to survive.
GRAW and Halo are two different games too. I'm surprised they are letting us discuss other games because I thought the rules were we were not allowed to.
Gears IMO is going to be a game of its own. It will provide tactical combat style but still at a fast pace of something like Halo. GRAW is slow, and really isn't all that tactical since they took all the tactical moves from single player and left them out of MP.
