I've been learning decals recently, and I think that I found the way to make them properly. However, my decals are showing up completely black when I test the map (ctrl spectate). If I shoot close enough, the blast ''lights'' the decal and I can see the material, but the lights aren't working.

Help?

You might have to put the material to UNLIT under the LIGHTING MODEL option.

Huh, oddly enough, setting it to unlit made it black too, but then re-setting it to phong or something else made it show up ok... for some reason... :)

Decal material is fine, but decal actor's lighting channels are set to dynamic lights only. Therefore the decal projection it's not illuminated by static lights and rendered as black. The muzzle flash uses dynamic light. Add static lighting channels to the decal actor or add a dynamic light to the scene.

I've gotten it to work well for me before, but I don't remeber how off the top of my head. I may try to figure it out later.
